Is there a category for all of the above?

Other! Clinton moves to provoke a war....anywhere....and blames everything on those newly appointed "bad guys".

China/Russia and a combination of all of the above to boot. Perhaps the other is being set for UN/NWO but since China and Russia are anti- NWO, they won't care anyway if we're in a depression although it would be to their advantage. Wars are the usual answer when the economy slows-depletes population and fattens the industrialists.

The Greatest Threat? (not necessarily the most likely?)

Doomer Mode On...

The greatest threat is that someone(s) might stage a concerted biological attack on our country. If an agent were used that had secondary infectious capability....yikes!

More likely (I hope) is recession, economic problems, in part triggered by fuel issues.

Desperate men do desperate things. King Klinton is a desperate man, he wants to leave a legacy that reflects his perception of himself as a peacemaker. No American sacrifice is to great if it fulfills this vision.

What will he do in the next 6 months to accomplish his vision should be high on our list of concerns

-- KKlinton (theking@andi.com), February 21, 2000.

Oil and other commodities continue to rise in price adding to inflation which causes the Fed to continue to raise interest rates which bursts the bubble on Wall Street which causes layoffs and recession (hopefully not depression).

But I think the powers that be will try to hold everything together until after the election in the fall. Then all bets are off including China or Russia making a move of their own.

Then again if any or all of the above happens before the election we can always look forward to the possibility of having "Bubba" as our Dictator for Life!

fix doomer mode: Doomer Mode off (grin)
Don't forget ol' Sol, a Major flare zapping Terra would ruin everybodies day.
Terrorists with Technology are a pretty scary bunch, every year the tools they can use get even better.

(sorry Don, looks like Doomer Mode on is a system default on this board...) (big grin)

China/Russia before Slick Willy is gone:::

This is just my opinion :::

All stock market bubbles break causing layoffs, recession ;; Rising oil prices, curtailment/control without question set off WW I & WW II. Historical fact:: Everybody ::: wants to knock off the big bully ;;

Market takes a nose dive causing mass confusion in US, Japan goes bust. Oil production capabilities are severly curtailed due to extremists attacking platforms, refineries. Shock waves through out the country.

Multiple attacks against Tiawan, S. Korea, and US.

Any ideas :::::

All of the above and more, and citizens who have been insulated so long, they've forgotten how to fix things.

-- Kat (kat3@crosswinds.net), February 21, 2000.

the greatest threat right now is a rampant paraniod thought process that begins with anything associated with NWO, China, WWIII and the many other paraniods posting to this board.

-- Helpthe (paraniods@reafter.me), February 21, 2000.

Help the ... There is a big difference between paranoids and realists. But , how could I possibly explain it to you ? You couldn't even understand the question posed , let alone make an intelligent answer . Back in your cage ! GOOD polly ! Eagle

What do you think is the greatest threat we now face?

Currently that would be rising oil prices/inflation which would then lead to a recession after while.

Long term - Unquestionably Overpopulation

Todd,

I'm sure that many of us would be most interested in reading about your family's experiences during the Depression. Please share them with us in a new post.

Something that seems so often overlooked is the moral element. All of the things spoken of here are symptoms rather than causes of the problem. Those on this forum who are unbelievers will probably discount this idea but believers will understand. Look carefully at the following Scripture passage and see how many of the curses are present with us today. The real "greatest problem" we face is unquestionably a continuation on the path of godlessness we are presently pursuing with vigor. Notice how the blessings closely approximate the condition of our country in its earlier times and how the sanctions are more and more describing where we are now. Hopefully a turn around will be made before we reach the same state of Israel so many centuries ago when it was destroyed and went into captivity because of its wickedness.

Deuteronomy 28:1-20 "Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 "And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God: 3 "Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. 4 "Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. 5 "Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 6 "Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. 7 " The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. 8 "The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you. 9 "The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways. 10 "Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you. 11 "And the LORD will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you. 12 "The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 "And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. 14 "So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them. 15 " But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: 16 "Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country. 17 "Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 18 "Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. 19 "Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out. 20 " The LORD will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me.

The planetary alignment 5/5/2000 could bring chaos and disaster for the unprepared. (15) And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. (16)And the number of the army of the horseman were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. Vs 15 An hour, a day, a month, a year, are four time designations and the numbers given in this chapter are 5,5, 2000, 1000, 1000. The date of the flood is 5/5/2000. The number left over is 200 for an hour, 24 hours in a day, 200 divided by 8 hours and 20 minutes, the date of 8/20 again. So, the four angels were loosed again when the sealed identities of EA, Enlil, Ninurta, and Jesus reappear somewhere around 8/20/2000

My answer to the question is: As always, we are our own worst enemy.

We are our own worst enemy because of our unwillingness to question the status quo, to prepare for the future wisely, to see who our friends are, to see who our enemies are, to train mentally and spiritually for the hardships and opportunities that will come, to accept the ordinary and lastly to truly love.

A rash of exploding heads, brought on by the ego swelling realisation that your rampant jingoism has made the USA is far and away the most hated and despised country on the face of the Earth. Yes, even more than France.
