Is there a household chemical formula for a pregnancy test? (No, I don't have any rabbits to inject). This is human, not livestock pregnancy. I'm just sick of spending money on hpt's just because I think I'm pregnant half the time! I thought I read about a formula for an old "ring test" somewhere, but I may be getting things confused with the "drano test" for determining the sex of the baby. Hope someone can help!

I think the ring test you refer to is you hang a ring on a string and put over a pregnant belly if pulls to right its one sex[ girl i think] and left is another sex?

heeheehee! No! The "ring test" is one of the first home pregnancy tests marketed - you put some kind of chemical in a vial of first-of-the-morning urine, stash it in the fridge, and wait a while. If a ring forms on the surface, the test was positive. Anyone know what chemicals were used? I don't think they make those tests for sale anymore.

You put a gold wedding band on a string and hold it over your belly. If it goes in a circle, you will have or have had a boy. If it swings from head to toe or side to side, you will have or have had a girl. When it stops, your are done. This has been right every time I've seen it done. It said I would have a boy, then a girl. I have a 7 yr old boy and a four year old girl. Its worked on others also. Another one is to take a pencil, put a sewing needle with thread on the end of it an hold it over the top of your hand. If it swings from elbow to fingertip, its means a boy, if it goes from thumb to pinky it means a girl. When it is done, it will go in a circle.

Both of these work on both men and women. Let me know how it works for you guys.
