Diane or whoever...(when you get time, looks like you are busy tonight-sorry! keep up the good work)-

I am in aol to get onto the internet. Typing in abuse@aol.com or tosboard@aol.com just opens up some main page and I'm not sure where to go to complain. Can you give more specific directions for us?

Is it true that you tried already and Aol won't do anything? Do you want to start a fund to pay a programmer to make the kind of changes suggested on a previous thead? ( Ed Yourdon says Phil G is too busy). I will be happy to contribute. This is my primary news source. I am sure many of us would be happy to send some money.

Thank you! No, tomorrow is presidents day and school is off!! Which means my kids will be home.

Don't you know that anybody who asks dumb computer questions is a grownup and does not go to school, and the school kids know everything there is to know about computers and never ask dumb questions?

But, I am going to bed. I started Michael Crichton's latest novel Timeline and I am hooked. So I will complain, and then go to bed. Thanks for your hard work!

I have a very close friend that works for Compuserve which was bought out by AOL as you may know. I spoke with her personally about this situation and she said that AOL probably won't do anything as long as the spammer isn't attacking AOL sites. LL said it herself, all they care about is that she pays her bills. And, it is true, even if she were cancelled by AOL she would be on another internet provider in a very short time. So, while I think complaining to AOL might do some good, I wouldn't hold our collective breaths. I think the real solution is the password idea. Don't think that LL is going to go away anytime soon.

I am going to lean on Steve a bit to see if he can talk to Phillip about getting his hands on the source code to find out what kind of job we are talking about.

Sure, password protect the forum. You'll lose all casual contributors and those annoying questioners, and end up with a tiny core of self congratulatory chemtrailers, gun freaks and bunker lurkers. Which is probably the idea. It's win-win! ;p
