"Blue Onion" information

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Exchange: A Forum for Antiques and The Arts : One Thread

I have some Blue Onion dishes given to me from my great Aunt. I believe she purchased them when she was in England. I have seen some Blue Onion in a book that were Meissen. I know mine are not Meissen, but I don't know anything else about them. The markings on the bottom of these items are "crossed arrows" with the words "blue onion" written in cursive over the arrows. I also have one small oval dish that has the similar oinion pattern but it is stamped "wedgewood" on the bottom along with separate stamps of a "P", "AT" and maybe a "W"; with the writing of "onion" - "wedgewood" - "??????, England" and one other unidentifiable marking. If anyone can give me some info on where to find more info on the items, it would be appreciated. Thank you

Kovel's & Antique Trader are two good sources for info on china. But I can tell you that your piece marked "Wedgewood", isn't. The real Wedgwood doesn't have the 2nd "e". Katie
