The West Seattle freeway had one GP lane changed to buses only and

greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

Today was the first time I have ever been on that road with a bus.

And GUESS WHAT???? The $%^**#^&$^%#&^^%@&&^&^@&# bus WASN'T USING THE BUS LANE.

So we had a lane that should have had a bus with four or five people on it running in it(The lane that USED to be OUR LANE), but it was empty just like it usually is!!!!!!!!!!

And SW Spokane St (it hasn't been called the West Seattle Freeway in several years) is so JAM PACKED with traffic on a Sunday that I'm sure the bus was taking up a whole bunch of valuable space that would have been occupied by a SOV.

Patrick says "And SW Spokane St (it hasn't been called the West Seattle Freeway in several years) "

Well I guess you better inform DOT and all the other government agencies so they can remove all the West Seattle Freeway signs...and tell the traffic reporters the same thing...

God ...what rock have you been hiding under??? I would sure hate to ask you for directions. Your knowledge of the area around Seattle is almost as bad as you general knoweldge of EVERYTHING..

What do you call I-5????

All the signs I've seen have been changed from "West Seattle Freeway" to "West Seattle Bridge" a long time ago. Seems people have a tendency to drive well above the posted speed limit along that stretch of road and smack into oncoming traffic. So the powers that be decided to remove the word "freeway" from the name in an effort to get people to drive near the actual speed limit.

You might want to try looking at the signs more than counting cars on the road. I note you didn't respond to my comment about how the bus probably wasn't getting in the way of any traffic since it was a Sunday. Hmmm, imagine that.

I admit it, I sure miss Westin...

Consider the source maddjak. The fact that he even responded shows how his "socialist elite" opinions have become an obsession. Perhaps a proper diagnosis by zowie is in order.

"The fact that he even responded shows how his "socialist elite" opinions have become an obsession."

I admit, I almost didn't respond since, like usual, maddjak's comments were rather pointless (notice how no one else usually responds either). But on occasion I like to highlight his rather weird sense of logic.

And Marsha, I know how you're the queen of double standards (you can make a genetic joke, but I'm the Antichrist for making a comment about a guy's weight) so this won't matter much to you, but seeing as how maddjak considers about 95% of all people to be morons, he's a MUCH bigger "elitist" that I'll ever be.

Request to open HOV lanes during rush hour is delayed

The King County Council has delayed until Monday a decision on the proposal to ask state officials to open some high-occupancy-vehicle lanes during rush hour.

A vote had been set yesterday, but council members decided to take more time to study the proposal.

``I'm confident it will pass next week,'' said Councilman Chris Vance, who authored the proposal.

If approved, the state Department of Transportation would be asked to conduct a year-long demonstration project to test the feasibility of opening HOV lanes to general traffic during non-rush hours.
