A different song question

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

During this last episode, when the nurses and doc's were in Doc Magoo's waiting to hear about Carter and Lucy there was a song playing in the backgroung. Ironically, in Lucy's first episode "A Day for a Knight" the last seen where she is speaking with the corspe of a dead fireman it is also playing. It is very melancholy, it is a guitar solo, no words, and it sounds a lot like Santana, but I'm not for sure. Does anyone know??

Gosh you have good ears. Isn't it great when they go to the trouble of putting in details like that?

I'm glad you noticed the music too... it was definitely Santana... I am not sure what it is titled, because I have it on a cd of their greatest hits, and I always listen to the whole album at once, so I don't know the title -- you know how that happens? (And I loaned out the CD, so I can't check.) I think it was either "Samba Pa Ti," or "Persuasion." It annoys me that I can't remember. But someone will know.

Ok, but did you notice the first time there was a shot in the diner, when Deb and Melucci walked in and joined the others, Chaka Khan's "Tell Me Something Good" was the background music. I thought that was really cool -- because it was ironic on the one hand, since they did receive such bad news, and accurate on the other, because, before hearing the news, the group was fondly reminiscing, in other words, telling each other something good. Nicely done.

I want that job. I want to be the person who gets to pick the perfect music to accompany images and emotion -- wouldn't that be the coolest?

The song was definitely "Samba Pa Ti" and it's on Santana's Greatest Hits and Abraxis.

If you want the free MP3 (CD quality) version of that song, go to www.napster.com, and download the small program. It is basically a free shareware site of over half a million songs/themes. I searched it there and found nearly 20 sites for a free download. It's basically the best MP3 site on the web. ;)
