This IS the begining of the end. Given the weekend to think about it , talk about it and wonder about it , I'll bet we see a plunge on Monday, followed by a sicking fall on Tuesday ! Oh, yes ! Forgot to mention one or two negitive articles/words in media/government controled press/radio/TV and we WILL have ANOTHER BLACK TUESDAY !

Wouldn't put it past Alan "Grinspinning" ( with a nudge from the Fed in NY ) to ' kick 'em in the teeth ' on the way down Monday , just to make sure they get a big enough correction . Will it stop or go "All the way ?" Think PANIC !! Eagle

Hal:

I bet you the trades on Wall Street won't make it drop on Monday.

I also bet that those same trades won't make it rise on Monday.

I bet that I called it bang-on (as the Canadians would say).

The Dow had 31 52 week highs and 268 lows.

The NASDAQ had 326 new highs and 136 new lows.

I predict the bubble idiots will figure this is a new buying opportunity for the NASDAQ and set another record or two next week. The DOW on the other hand is losing steam. I wonder how low the DOW has to go before it starts dragging the NASDAQ with it.

Dana ... It's NOT the traders on Wall St I was thinking of for Monday . It's ALL of the other markets around the world which watch AND worry about our " bubble " , that normally have to wait and see what our markets do BEFORE they can react . This time , they can operate on Fridays slide , and ALSO have the weekend to worry . Have a nice Presidents day , even if you are in Canada . Eagle

Hal:

Your incredible predictions would have more credibility if you realized the market was CLOSED on Monday. I guess that would spoil you Black Tuesday thing though, wouldn't it? And, how long have you been predicting this big crash?

The tech stocks are where it's at. Who needs earnings? Doh! Bankruptcy just doesn't happen to tech stock companies, does it?

Yes, Wall Street is closed for Presidents' Day.

Yes, there will be greedy dipsters drooling over lower priced stocks at *bargain prices*.

Yes, expect more surprises on Super Tuesday!

Jim C. ... If you'll check my second post , just above yours , you will see I ment the other markets , which finally have a chance to go negitive in a big way , and put enough pressure to other worries of money " leaking " from the bubble to cause a serious problem . Still have money in the market Jim ? Eagle

Hi Hal:

I couldn't resist teasing you because at first glance it does look like you were thinking of America when you referred to Monday.

I have a small position in a reverse fund (Prudent Bear) and a second position that is four times greater in S&P puts so you can see that I am also quite bearish.

Best wishes,

Hal:

Yep, I still have money in the market since I don't believe the world is going to hell in a handbasket tomorrow. You didn't answer my question though - how long have you been predicting the big crash? Since 99...or 98...or 97...you get the picture. Why should I think you're right now?

-- Jim Cooke (JJCooke@yahoo.com), February 19, 2000.

Jim ... For the reasons stated above ; and , no, I have not predicted the market crash before , except in '87 , while writing a letter of resignation as grounds keeper for the church I belonged to at that time. Three days later it happened .

You see , I have had premonitions since 1951 that I can remember , and I haven't been wrong yet ! I always know two out of three things that are going to happen ; like what and where , but not why . Sometimes I see a breif picture of the event ... where it's happening , and what , but I don't know when. I could give you many , some involving life and death . If your interested , e-mail me . Know something big is happening in 2000 since 1981 , but don't know what yet . Thought Y2K might be it , but to date that has not developed . Eagle

It will go back up on Tuesday,You see, they, the international, whatever You wanna call"THEM" have Monday(Presidents Day in the US)to loot and rob the other Stockmarkets of the World, that are not closed that Day,to electronically transfer the Bushel Baskets of Corporate IOU's to dump into Wall Street,to make everything look Hunky. This shuffling I believe has been going on for quite a While, thats why these Hucksters want a Global Economy and to evade Taxes. You know the Phrase:I already gave at the Office. In other Words:We are a Multinational Corporation,we payed our Taxes --in Monrovia.
