It means Ladylogic posted with Diane's name. The post needs to be preserved so that a complaint may be made to AOL. ISPs often required a renegade post be left in place for 24 hours n order to establish validity.

Using a humorous email name is one thing, Spamming is another thing. Impersonating someone else on the net should not simply be another thing. It should be a crime.

Pam, I understand this is a confusing entry. The original message consisted of the title "Dear forum members, etc". The capitalized material at the beginning of the title was added by a forum system operator in order to alert the other system operators [sysops] to be careful to not delete that particular thread. Apparently, they are quickly deleting some of the threads in order to keep the forum reasonably usable by the rest of us.

The original message was apparently "nt" which is shorthand for "no text".

The remaining information is technical information that may be of use to the offender's internet service provider(s). I do not know what "s/w side" means. The Diane@sacred.spaces. signature was designed to impersonate one of our forum system operators, who goes by the handle Diane Squire, and whose address is actually "sacredspaces@yahoo.com". This is obvioously not an exact match, but it was close enough to fool me for a couple of seconds.

The number 171.213.157.117 is the internet protocol [IP] address of the offender. Using a domain name server [DNS] the TB2000 forum system operator was able to determine that the address relates to the ABD59D75 address, which is probably dynamically reassigned by AOL to a new user when this offender signs off. It probably would have been wise to have noted the time of day at which the post arrived.

From experience, we're nearly certain that this will be someone known to us as Laura, whose screen name at AOL is Ladylogic46. AOL will probably be able to confirm, in their own records that it was, in fact, she (if it really is a she) who produced this offending post.
