Goodbye, Lucy : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

Well, my first reaction to tonight's episode is "very well done." I was a little surprised that the writers had Lucy KNOWING she was dying, but it made it more moving.

Carter looks like he has a long road ahead. They all do. Will this soften Romano up? What will it be like around there for a while? At least the bad guy's in custody, and we don't have to look for him around every corner.

I look forward to the messages in the next couple of days.

I agree, tonight's show was very well done. I was upset, however that the previews did not show anything about Lucy's funeral or a memorial service. She spent so much of her life in the ER helping other people and genuinely caring about others that it would be a shame to not show her some proper respect. Surely tonight's episode won't be the last of Lucy, I hope not anyway. Rest in peace Lucy...we will miss you.

I agree. A very emotional episode. I have a thought about Carter and I'm surprised no one has brought it up. He was given a colostomy and I'm sure that will effect him emotionally and make him feel very inferior sexually as well. Remember how he tried to be sympathetic toward Rebecca Demourne's character but didn't really understand her fear and self consciousness over losing her breast? This is the beginning of some serious healing for Carter. This loss of his normal bodily function will really mess with him.

It touched me how Carter kept asking about Lucy. I did, however, wish for some tears. Maybe they are still coming. He has much physical and emotional healing to do in the next few weeks. I will miss Lucy, and cried when she died.

Michelle- yes it would suck to have a colostomy, but Peter told Carter he'd only have to have it for a month, so atleast he doesn't have to have it for the rest of his life! Plus, he'll probably be lying in the hospital for a while, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.
