Y2kPro & LL - this is NOT COOL.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Take some time out. Maybe the people you seem to hate so much here are human after all... Like you. Maybe they'll listen if you show some respect. Those who revel in abuse really have their own crosses to bear, and have to live with what they've said in the past. Your spamming does not help them, or anyone anywhere, including, kids, you.

But I can read archives, kiddo, and I know about the deleted site. The very best thing you can do, the most powerful thing, is to let it go. There are some good folks here. You have to thicken your skin and ignore the bad ones, and the rest are mostly worth talking to.

(seems LL's post was deleted, but she responded to my thread initiation with something like "you haven't been here long enough to know...")

Sysops, Diane, whoever, this thread may be a candidate for non-deletions, maybe if only to help iron out some hard feelings, which might end up alleviating your overall editorial duties in the long run, get my drift? :^)

The phrase "you haven't been here long enough to know" works both ways, Bemused.

-- kritter (kritter@adelphia.net), February 17, 2000.

Bemused: Please don't lump me in with the DOS attacks that have occurred tonight. I post. If it is deleted I post it again. I NEVER engage in the sorts of shenanigans that have gone on tonight.

ps I don't "hate" anyone - even the guy who fantasized about my childrens death. Life's too short...

-- Y2K Pro (y2kpro1@hotmail.com), February 17, 2000.

Sorry. The sick jerk(s) who fantasized about your children's death, like I said, do have their own crosses to bear. I haven't seen that they're representative of the majority here.

Huh? LL directed that accusation at me... Don't know if we're on the same page, here, Kritter.

Same page...Saying "you haven't been long enough here to know" from ME means trying to reason with LL and Doomers, or "give them an opportunity to iron out the problems" have been tried many times. As you can see, they feel no one is listening to them, so they continue posting over and over, except that they have been doing it for months now. EVERYONE here knows what they have to say...they are in error if they think differently.

Saying "you haven't been long enough here to know" from ME means trying to reason with LL and Doomers, or "give them an opportunity to iron out the problems" have been tried many times.

Actually, it's only been tried a few times, and always by "pollies" who made the same suggestions currently being made by "Bemused." The suggestions were never taken seriously ("Don't negotiate with terrorists," etc.).

You are both enablers, Bemused and Hmm. The trolls who have been and are indulging in Denial of Service attacks on this forum are playing "See what you made me do?" None of them will take responsibility for their actions, past or present. They insist other people made them behave badly, as in "you created a monster." The trolls DO NOT misbehave because of us and they will not STOP misbehaving because of us. They have no power over their own lives and use us to justify their acting out.

You CANNOT reason with an unreasonable person.

This is incorrect, at least as far as LL goes: I (who am anything but a Polly) tried to get her readmitted here after her first indiscretion, believing that she was worth the trouble. Obviously I was wrong.
