Has anyone had any problems with taking time lapse shots?

I purchased a DC265 recently and was using it without any problems but now can't seen to make the time lapse feature work. Basically all my attempts have come out almost all white with very little detail.

If anyone can help me out with this (possibly dumbass) question it would be most appreciated...
