What does Force Majeure mean?

-- keeps (appearing@articles.now), February 16, 2000.

Company shall be excused from delay in performance of any obligations when such delay is the result of or attributable to acts of God, governmental authority, manufacturers delays or any other cause beyond their reasonable control.

force majeure is declared by a company that is unable to meet its contractual obligations to provide whatever products it makes to its customers. kinda of like an 'act of god'.

with oil refineries, it usually occurs from some catastrophic situation occuring (not necessarily explosions or that type of thing) that prevents them from producing their products.

Sure am glad this couldn't be Y2k related. Golly, if it were I might begin to worry. Think I understand why they shut down debunkers. Crow is fine as long as it isn't you that's eating it.

Elskon, I'm sure the debunkers would claim that their forum was shut down because their mission was accomplished--ie, y2k was defacto debunked.

But I bet they would have left it run just to indulge in snideness except that flame wars trashed it. Ladylogic and Ron Schwarz were the star flamers.

The debunker diehards still hang out at the "Gary North is a Big Fat Idiot" forum.

I wonder if we could interest Y2k Pro (so-called) into joining them.

Y2K PRO has a nest feathered in their tree already. Our forum is his hunting territory.
