Q&A report with Guy McKenzie, Assistant Secretary, Treasury Board Secretariat and National Spokesperson for the Government of Canada on Y2K Robert Peck, Spokesperson, Department of Foreign Affairs:

Robert Peck: ~snip~.... In Fiji the Immigration Ministry has unexpectedly and without explanation turned off its computers. Other ministries were asked to do likewise. The government of Fiji has not explained the situation. We dont know whether it was Y2K related or not. As I said at the present time problems of a serious consequence have not been reported. We hope that this trend will continue and that problems of a more serious nature do not develop. ~snip~
