OT-Does anybody out there use Vanceril Inhalers for asthma?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Hi- I stockpiled several extra Vanceril Inhalers for Y2K, and my MD changed me to Pulmicort in Dec (and was nice enough to give me a 6 month supply.) I hate to throw these away since they are worth almost 50 bucks each and have a future expiration date.

It is illegal for me to give them to anyone since they are prescription, but my Doctor's office said I can give them to a doctor, and he can give them to a patient. If you are interested, please e-mail me ( this is a true address) and I'll need the name, address, and phone number of your doctor, as well as your name. (I just want to protect myself legally). I have two 200 mcg per inhalation and two 50 mcg per inhalation, both generic. The others are brand name Vanceril, low dose 42mcg per inhalation.

If you don't have a prescription plan and could use these, please write. I will give them away for free. Or if you know of any sort of medical charity that would use them please let me know, in case I get no other responses. Thanks.

Dear Lyn, try the Asthma Resource Council if you do not get any takers.http://www.marin.org/npo/asthma/

Lyn-

Just a note regarding asthma. I stopped using Vanceril about a month ago and started using Flovent, 2 puffs twice a day. It has worked absolutely fantastic. I no longer need to use my Ventolin inhaler and haven't breathed this clearly and consistently in a few years.

Your community likely has some sort of public health center for people with no other resources. In my town it's called Family Practice Center. Ask around, they can really use any help they can get. A church, or the Red Cross, or the Salvation Army or Goodwill can probably point you in the direction of the local clinic.
