To Ben Jos Walbeehm, please read

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

First I want to apologize for my English, I am Spanish and I am using a program of translation.I am accustomed to read always all the posted messages here, but I am not accustomed to participate because is very difficult to me write in English.

I have seen that 3 of my games have been put to 0:

Gradius III [Claimed 64000, but used autofire] Konami88 [Claimed 300,910, but used autofire] 88Games [Claimed 188,010, but used autofire and RLH] I want to clarify something

I have not used autofire in the game Gradius III. This game has 2 fire buttons, the normal shot and another one to throw misiles. That I did was to assign both buttons to a same key. I would thank an explanation if do that is allowed or not.

You say that in the game Konami88 I have used autofire:

1: My score was 332.620, no 300.910 like you say. 2: I can not use autofire because I do not have Joystick neither Pad with autofire and I always play using the keyboard.(I use the keys Z, X and C in this game)

And in the game 88Games, you say that I have used autofire and RLH:

1: My score was 315.630 (confirmed) and not 188.010

2: I have not used autofire for the same reason that I said before.

3: is not possible that I have used RLH because I NEVER record my games with the "-cheat" option activated.(I don4t know if that can be checked) and if a was a cheater, for what reason was I going to use AUTOFIRE and RLH at the same time?, one finger in the joystick and other one in the keyboard at the same time?, it does not have any sense,I am not such idiot to do this. I wait for an answer and excuse me again for my English.

Thanks.

Javier Oliver.

Don't even bother my friend! I gave up when it came to hypersports, I still swear ON MY LIFE that I did not use auto fire, funny thing is I have scores reset to 0 even after I have gotten rid of my autofire pad?!?!?, I now use a sidewinder...

People playing God if u ask me, There is something wrong with the INP files in the later versions if u ask me...

Time will tell.....

Anyway, I'm not going to argue over a prizeless leaderboard

a, I have a real life b, I'm saving my recordings so I can enter straight in at number 1 to really piss everyone off...

This place is getting way to serious, used to be fun, just like ZWAXY ;-)

OK, Game Guru. Let me reply to a few lines of yours one by one:

"Anyway, I'm not going to argue over a prizeless leaderboard a, I have a real life"

Is that why you seem so hell-bound to reach number one on the leaderboard? I very distinctly remember remarks of yours very recently like: "There's a new guy in the top 5. Guess who?", "This recording puts me in the top 3", etc. etc.

"I gave up when it came to hypersports, I still swear ON MY LIFE that I did not use auto fire"

Yes, and you also swore on your life that you used the keyboard. And I am not arguing with you here, nor have I ever. The Hyper Sports recording you are referring to was NOT zeroed out because of autofire, but because of RLH. At 8 minutes and 31 seconds into the recording, for about 8 seconds, you repeatedly pressed and released the RLH button on your KEYBOARD. READ MY LIPS: THIS BUTTON IS RECORDED AS A SEPARATE BUTTON IN THE .INP, SO THE PROOF IS RIGHT THERE IN THE .INP.

"funny thing is I have scores reset to 0 even after I have gotten rid of my autofire pad?!?!?, I now use a sidewinder..."

Sure. They were reset to 0 after you have gotten rid of your autofire pad, but they were recorded with it and before you got rid of it...

Anyway, I am not going to argue with you anymore. You obviously choose your words carefully, but you are evading the real points. You swore that you used the keyboard and you swore that you did not use autofire. But that is not in contradiction with the fact that you still used RLH. You never swore on your life that you did not use RLH in that Hyper Sports recording you recently submitted and that was zeroed out by me...

To Cronos: I have reinstated your Gradius III score. The program to detect autofire must indeed have been mistaken because of two buttons mapped to the same key. I just checked it again with the latest version of that program and your recording is clean. My apologies.

As for Konami '88 and '88 Games: I am going to have another look at those. The reason the scores seemed different is that because when a recording is deleted, the recording with the next highest score is reinstated. So when your 332620 score on Konami '88 was deleted, your previous submission of 300910 then showed up. Like I said, I am going to have another look at those submissions.

Cheers, Ben Jos.
