Dichro Powe Supply

I am looking for a used power supply for the Super Chromega D, Dichroic II color head. Omega supplies either the Chromegatrol time/power supply or a "standard" power supply. A new power supply from B&H cost $297.00 and the ones on e-bay appear to be "well used" and going for high prices. Does anyone know a possible source or alternative?

I have the same problem with my second hand enlarger in that the non- standard ones that came with it is making a lot of electrical noise...is it going to explode? Anyway, I am thinking of rebuilding it from parts obtainable from local electrical/electronic supplier. I believe the main item you need is a step-down transformer of the correct voltage/amperage/wattage/current type-AC or DC. A possible alternative is to substitute a low wattage transformer that powers those low wattage garden lights. This can be bought in hardware store.

A word of warning: THIS IS A SUGGESTION, I don't know if it will work or not, I am still researching its feasibility. Anyone out there with better advise?
