Here is the link.

Interesting that the attached NTSB graphs show no significant change in air accidents between the periods Nov 1998 to Feb 1999 and Nov 1999 to Feb 2000.

Malcolm, I think it takes a while for the reports to work their way through their system. I noticed in Jim Hall's speech today that he mentioned only the one other (American Airlines) stabilizer problem.

Rachel, The NTSB has a preliminary report on every accident or incident published on its site within 48 hours of its notification. But to really compare the accident statistics have a look down a few threads at this item.

From the thread you reference, Malcolm,

"Jan. '98...114 accidents with 100 listed as non-fatal, 6 as fatal with 40 fatalities and 10 listed as "incidents"

"Dec. '98 ... 138 accidents with 101 as non-fatal, 27 listed as fatal with 42 fatalities and 10 listed as "incidents"

Something is wrong with this picture. In 1999 the FAA proudly issued a report saying no American loss of life had occurred due to commerical aviation accidents during 1998. U.S. family members of those on SR111 were hurt and angered by this report. So, do the stats mentioned here refer to GA only?

The stats on NTSB reflect all GA and commercial events. There were no fatalities in 98 on U.S. based airlines.
