&Freetown - Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone was without water for 3 days following a mechanical problem in one of the main water treatment plant in the west of the caiptal. Sources at the Guma Valley Water Company GVWC say the water shortage was as a result of a burst pipe close to the main water storage facility at Adonkia Village.

House wives, school going kids have to trekked long distance to fetch water for thier use. The water shortage which started last week appear to be affecting other areas in the capital though some areas like the west-end of the city are now recieving water.

The shortage also came at a time when there appear to be general electricity blackout in the capital.Last December prior to Christmass, President Ahamd tejan Kabbah in his xmass speech promised the city residents 24 hours electricity, but to their chargrin the electricity was not delivered.
