THE COMING GOLD SHORTAGE!

Heres The Latest Bullish News For Gold!

Placer Dome annouced last week that they were closing out their Hedging Program!

Barrick Announced Yesterday that it Reduced it's Forward Sales for the Fourth Quarter by almost Half! They claim though to remain commited to Hedging as a strategy. But in the same Breath said they had bought Call Options that cover 100% of their production from March of 2000 to 2001! (Which Sounds Very Bullish For Gold If You Ask Me!)

Australias Largest Gold Miner, Normandy Mining LTD said yesterday that it had not entered into any new Hedging contracts in almost Two Months!

Anglogold Announced Yesterday that it has been lightening its Hedge Book during the last Four Months and would contiue to do so!

Agnico-Eagle Publically Confirmed its policy of not selling any of its Future Gold production forward!

These Companies above are some of the Biggest Gold Producers on the Planet and undoubtably many more will follow in their footsteps!

This is happening because Shareholders of these Companies and others are Waking up and Demanding that Management stop Forward Hedging which Artificially holds Golds Price and the Share Price of their Companies down!

Based on this Information I believe we will begin to see a Gold Shortage sometime in the fairly near Future because as the Mining Companies begin to deliver Gold into their Hedges to close them out that Gold will go back into the Vaults that it was originally lent from (I.E.The Worlds Central Banks) which will cause a Shortage in the Marketplace Thereby Driving Prices Upward!

Zdude! I know that exclamation points are kinda fun! But you really don't have to use one after every single sentence! Honest! You can use a regular period! Nobody will mind!

And what about continual questions? Are they always to be unanswered? Unknowable? Impatiently imploring? Huh? Know what I mean? Is anybody out there???

If gold were'nt such a heavily manipulated metal I might believe that a price increase would be possible!

-- Rich (rubeliever@webtv.net), February 08, 2000.

Manipulated? Yes, and probably going down to sub-$225/ounce sometime within a year or so to end a long bear market.

The daily ups and downs are exciting (like late last week), but efforts to explain these fluctuations on the basis of news events are seldom accurate. News events don't drive stock, bond or commodity prices to any significant degree. The market itself drives these prices. Please re-read the last 2 sentences.

Careful market analysis of the waves and trends of the market valuations themselves is the only reasonably accurate way to determine probable pricing in the short and longer term. I believe that the Elliott Wave count for gold has nearly completed it's multi- year bear market, but not quite yet.

Sub-$225 is the target. No need to panic buy.

Birdlady,

The two best places to get breaking news on the Gold Market that I have found are LeMetropole Cafefirst and then GATA email groupsecond.

LeMetropole Cafe is a subscription site but they will have a Free two Week trial and once your on their email list you'll continue to receive their daily market updates. Most of the info for this thread came from their bulletin from yesterday.

GATA is the group trying to force change (And doing it in my opinion) in the Gold Industry and is closely aligned with the members of Le Metropole Cafe. If you click on the GATA link above it will take you to a page that you can sign up for their Free Email bulletins which come out several times a week. (usually) Also while your at the GATA page click on "messages" and that will take you to their archieved bulletins, where theres a lot of good info.

Also the two best Gold bulletin boards are USA GOLD There are some Major Intellectuals on this board. And Gold Eagles board.

I hope this helps you out.

No Really and e.aaron sorry if Ive offended you and others with my exclamation marks I'll try and tone it down in the future. Just out of curiosity are either of you related to Elaine on Seinfeld?

Zdude

P.S. D Howard I've heard before that Gold will go down to Sub $225.00 levels (actually I heard Sub $200.00 levels)based on Elliot Wave Therory but I've never been able to find anything on it can you point me to a Website with that information? Thanks.

ZDude; the gold target was given to subscribers in the Elliott Wave Forecast as well as Prechter's book, "At the Crest of the Tidal Wave..."
