Whale oil lamp

Can anyone tell me what a whale oil lamp would sell for? Mine stands three feet tall, with a marble base and a gilded fluited corinthian column. The globe is frosted glass with cut flowers, and a raised, flaired chimney.

Jack, What you have described does not sound like a whale oil lamp, could you describe what the burner and wick looks like and list any company markings you can find on it.

The lamp does not have any wick or burner,I thought it had them at one time. The lamps shade set on a round oil tank.the lamp is electric at this time, butI thought it had been converted to electric.Because of the oil tank.It has no names or markings on it.------THANK YOU----- --------------------------------------------Jack

Hi Jack , your lamp sounds like it used to burn kerosene. Kerosene lamps sell in quite a wide range $ 95.00- $1500.00 depending on maker and rarity, but a nice one properly electrified average $175.00-225.00 in the shops.
