I don't get it.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I started lurking around a bunch of post-1/1/2000 sites early in January (in addition to my usual news sites, etc. ) and started writing down each glitch I found. After about 9 pages, both sides, I decided I was convinced that there were some serious problems coming down. Even if I didn't believe that a portion of them were date problems, I still think the MULTITUDE of train, airplane, pipeline, refinery, etc...incidents-- are incredibly unusual. Things do not look good. Thus, my question: How do people come up with the conclusion that "Y2K is over" and "nothing's happening"? They're reading the same material I am, right? Am I missing something?--that's very possible...

Hi Border Girl!!

I don't think you're missing anything. In fact, I think you've got it! The media hyped Y2K to be a one-day problem. When January 1 came and went, Y2K was deemed to be a non-event. In actuality, it is a YEAR 2000 problem.

No connections are being made (or talked about) in regard to all the disasters, oil supply problems, etc. I guess the Media doesn't want to be "wrong." To a Polly, that is apparently the worst thing to be.

Bordergirl:

What would have happened if you had done the same thing in January of 1999...or January of 1998? Would you have found the same, less, or more reported problems that we've seen so far in 2000? You don't know? Me either. But without a baseline, it's impossible to tell if what we are seeing is significant or just part of the backgound problems that continue to occur in a modern world. You think "things do not look good" because that is what you believe, not because you have any way to know if it's the truth.

the MULTITUDE of train, airplane, pipeline, refinery, etc...incidents-- are incredibly unusual.

If you had done the same for a year or two before the rollover then you would have something to base your results against. Were you paying attention before the rollover like you do now?

It is like being pregnant, it seems every woman you see is pregnant because you are aware of it, where you were not before.

Jim- My baseline IS last January. And the January before. I'm a student of Bible prophecy so I always pay attention. There has never been a 6 week period in my adult life that has seen so many public transportation vehicles running directly into each other, for instance. Same with a variety of things. Three 737's had IDENTICAL problems at the SAME time...in three different places! Have you ever heard of something like that happening?

-- Bordergirl (Bordergirl@nottooquick.iguess), February 08, 2000.

Four MD-80s with startlingly similar problems at the same time.

What side of the border are you on?

I live on the US side but I like to grocery shop in the Great White North!

and-Cherri, you're right about noticing pregnant women! Van drivers always wave to each other, too.

Yes. There has been at least two major date line comparisons of failure events in a given sector, on this board.

Nuclear Plants shutdowns due to accidents [running about 3X normal]. And Refinery accidents apparently running dozens of time over the normal amount. The treads are below. They've been rigourously examined but still stand.

There is terrific psychological pressure exerted upon some minds by the awareness that perception alone is holding up various 'markets'. Therefore for many, the wrong type of perception must not be allowed to spread.

Thanks for your input, Bordergirl. It sure is hard to get a read on some of this stuff--as it was before rollover. Frankness is not the stuff that business and government are made of.

I'm with you "border girl". It's a little too co-incidental, fishy. Sometimes we just got to say it. But there's a lot of us who are watching and thinking the same thing. ...sdb

Bordergirl, No ... you don't have the wrong message... as a matter of fact, in America, complacent people remain complacent because their is a Hollywood movie on tonight instead of searching for truth and fellowship... The web is propaganda to the lazy-minded and if they do happen to run up on the truth, they mock it as communist or anti- government... the lazy, complacency of the American is maddening... I can't even tlk to one of my best friends because he and his wife believe I'm mad for preparing a years worth of survival for only one day (010100) of problems. When I say prepared for one years survival... I speak of converting my home over to producing my own power and raising my own chickens for eggs and meat, and using chicken manure and other manure for producing Methane gas to run back up generators, and teaching my family to be prudent and seek out ministry to the aged and handicapped and the widows of the community that are left alone to die, ...You know Bordergirl, the world has a big problem... it's not y2k... it is their past time... look for example of our undistinguished leader, the unhonorable Clinton, people are being drawn away from getting prepared physically and spiritually... y2k has taught my family 2 great lessons: 1 - To be prepared in and out of season... you never know when disaster could strike and there will be a need for people to help people... those people who help people will be those people who prepared.

2 - It was a hard task to get physically prepared... but the toughest task was to take the mocking and scorn of complacent people and keep our focus on GOD... the y2k issue brought my family back together, we take time to spend with eachother now...it came from all the y2k test days we did every month in preparing and rehearsing for the worst case senerio... we found that being prepared was much more than stuffing a few cans of beans in a cabinet... it required us to discipline ourselves to think again, and to work together again (canning food was really a blessing) we did it togther... infact, as a family we started to do a lot of things together...

NOTE: one danger in the future... Do not drop your guard... time are ahead which will test all your preparations.... whether it is y2k or the final tribulation... I think preparedness is godly and that we should not find it strange that we should see what we see and no one else seems to...it is the times and it must be... but we must continue to do what we must...because we must not grow weary of doing good...and warning the innocent of the times ahead.

Bordergirl...you have the right idea but do not be discouraged...thats what the world wants you to do...but don't...find peace in knowing the truth!

I probably was thinking much faster than I could type...so if my train of thought gets sort of messed in a few places...excuse me...hope you get the gist of what I have noted!

Bordergirl, the end of the world has occurred. Its just that the media and the .gov have covered it up.

-- HowardStern (BAMECW@aol.com), February 08, 2000.

Not yet stern! But they are trying to abolish the Bible! You are abosultely right in your assumption that the world has come to an end... When you take God out of life, the remaining substance is darkness! BRyan, hang in there Bordergirl, a whole lot of mocking out there lookin for a place to cover their shame.

-- S BRyan G III (sbrg3@juno.com), February 09, 2000.

B Ryan- Thank you for that post. You are exactly right. I believe like you that there will be final tribulation. I find it rare to find those who believe the same but there are a few on this board.

I feel that my greatest challenge right now is to not only prepare physically but also spiritually for the coming times. Also, how do you prepare your children for the end of ages? Do you know of any teachings or websites that deal with this?

I'm glad you found this board. You are a refreshing voice amongst all the bickering that goes on here.

Dear I BELIEVE, How do I prepare my children for the upcoming times... GODS WORD ...HE brings peace to turmoil and turmoil to complacency... You can't be afraid of the truth... if you are...then all you do is complain about those people who tell the truth! John 3:16 is clear enough about everything that has to do about anything...but very seldom do people realize that John 3:17 is part of this previous scripture... in my own words, verse 17 say that GOD sent HIS Son to this world not to condemn this world....WHY? because this world is already condemned... But Jesus came here that the world might be saved through HIM.... GOD sends no one to hell... men...ignorant men chose to do that on their own... My children don't worry about the future and you should not either... just find peace in you prudent preparations and stick with the right focus...not condemning but informing and worshipping only the ONE and true GOD. Thank you for such a quick response. Yes, one must not be afraid of the truth but some of the truth these days can be pretty scary. Yes, Jesus is the only true peace.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. Up until a year or so ago I believed that we would be raptured out of here and not go through the great tribulation. I now believe that we do go through the great trib. and that we must excape, survive and endure until the Lord comes in the sky.

Do 'you' believe that we go through the great tribulation? A site that I really enjoy is called Lion and Lamb Ministries. www.lionlamb.net

It is an end time prophetic message in a Messianic Jewish context. You might be interested in reading some of the newsletters. I would be interested in your thoughts or comments.

I BELIEVE, No... I don't believe the church will go through the tribulation. If you study Rev. the church is not mentioned after the 3rd chapter, the church is gone... another reason I do not believe GODs wrath will not fall upon the church is Christ lives in us, the Holy Spirit will never be subject to judgement and tribulation as we see in the Book Of Revelation...why? because the tribulation after the 3rd chapter is the wrath of GOD and GOD does not put wrath upon HIMSELF. I believe the church is gone before even the anti-christ is known to the world. We shall never see GOD's wrath...remember we are righteous in the sight of the Father, Righteous because it is Christ that is seen in us. Remember we are saved... for what wrath...no! saved for HIS delight... BRyan

Thank you for checking back on this thread. Thank you for a direct answer. I guess you can say I have went through a major transition in the last year and a half. I have come to terms with the popular pretribulation rapture teaching and have set it aside. I believe now that the resurrection does not occur until after the tribulation. Believe me, this has not been easy as I have two precious little girls and never dreamed that I would have to prepare them to endure to the end. I was devastated and often say, "this just isn't fair".

I cannot begin to explain as I am just a simple wife and mother but my life was changed after a friend sent me the video from this ministry. I believe everything centers around Israel and the seven year peace treaty and the Abomination of Desolation and the setting up of the image etc. Yes I now believe that the church is here when the anti-christ comes to power. Please go to this website with an open mind and go to the newsletter Yavoh and read through some of them. I have so much more to learn but I want to obey the Lord and commit to follow Him -- He is my Commander and He is my Deliverance.

The reason I have such a passion for sharing this with others is because I think many will be disappointed when they realize they are still here. We need to be prepared spiritually for the coming times to endure just like the children of Isreal coming out of Egypt and going to the promised land. Perhaps this isn't the proper place for this but let it be a witness to any who read it.
