And don't even think of asking how it is Y2K related, Troll. It is news and we hear it here first. At least I did.

Wasn't there a thread a few months back about a May 2000 date having to do with the Israel and talk that a war would start before then. I could be way off base. Does anyone else remember it?

Thanks Kyle for both the link and the Troll assist. It seems these days `we the people` are finding less and less information in our main media. so it`s becoming a real heads-up. glad we have this forum to keep track of the `blips` on the screen.

ISRAEL'S REQUEST FOR $17 BILLION IN U.S. WEAPONS STIRS CONCERN

Israel is asking the USA for more than $17 billion worth of sophisticated U.S. weapons technology, KNIGHT RIDDER is reporting, "including highly restricted software codes, surveillance equipment, smart bombs and Tomahawk cruise missiles."

KR's Christopher Marquis in Washington reports that Israel could touch off a regional arms race with nations such as Iran.

"Others voice concerns that Israel seeks to repackage U.S. technology in its own thriving arms industry."

Prime Minister Ehud Barak says the weapons are needed to safeguard Israel's security if the nation returns the strategic Golan Heights to Syria,

--just one of the serious bummers involved with arming israel is that the mossadmafia keeps reselling the tech and know-how to china and other places. If I wuz king, there wouldn't be any high tech anything leave the borders of the US, the only allowed tech to be transferred would be about 4 or 5 generations behind. The multinationals cry crocodile tears that they need the exports in order to stay current and compete. well, no they don't. It's the exports of the past getting in the hands of others that keep fueling new development. They are creating their own market, at the expense of world security, because more and more mass murder potential will lead inevitably to more and more mass murder, it's that bone simple. Those compnaies could still exist, they'd just be smaller, and the defense budgets would be smaller, and skilled workers can get jobs elsewhere, maybe green energy production, maybe something else, who knows. Factories can be rearranged to produce other things, examples, look at ww2, thousands of civilian goods producing factories were rearranged to produce war materiel, and that can be reversed as well. Then some will state, "well, france or russia or someone will sell that stuff". that's wrong again, those countries blatantly steal or lobby for the release of US R&D hardware and electronic products. What's needed is a more detailed and comprehensive emphasis on US national security, not an emphasis on what are now multinational corporations seeling arms all over. All those companies need to make an executive decision if they are US companies and patriotic, or if their thrust is to just keep distributing arms all over. If the latter, kick 'em out, lock, stock, barrel, no entry, out ya go! You just can NOT be both, you can't be an internationalist and a nationalist for your country of choice, defies the laws of social physics. The day the USS Liberty was bombed and straffed by Israel, she became an enemy, case closed for me. tough kitty on that. and as for the palestinians, tough kitty there, too. They willing abandoned their turf in "48, thinking that after the arab legion went in and got the israelis on the run that they could come back and rape and loot at leisure, historical broadcasts and print media at the time prove this. Instead, they got their clocks cleaned, couldn't go back. Tough kitty. Most went to Jordan, that's their "country" now. I say, don't support either side, let em rot. I say, massive development of alternative energy for all facets of what we use energy for in this country, then tell opec and friends to take a hike and let em rot. I say, keep the US as the clear cut overwhelmingly highest DEFENSIVE tech on the planet, and on the moral high ground, don't export so much as a single bullet, and let the rest rot. Chinese and Russian biz men and students-out ya go! Sorry, you've made public pronouncements that war with the US is inevitable, so be it, but not with our technology or help, out ya go! France wants to sell to declared enemies of ours, same deal with them, out ya go! Any other country wants to do that, out ya go!

Now some will call this isolationism, on the contrary, it isn't, trade and travel and visit all you want until such a time as you either declare yourselves our enemy, or you trade with one of those countries. It's up to those foreign countries to decide who they want to be friends with first, same as it is with the defense multinational companies. There ain't no middle ground on national security where I come from. If I stand by and watch some bully mug some old lady, well, I just have helped that bully mug that lady indirectly. If I teach martial arts to a known bully, I'm a party to future crimes he might commit. The high tech companies are transferring the tech to bullies, then standing by and wringing their hands "what can we do, some other place would do it'. Phooie, that's a transparent lie, it's obvious. The lady in the analogy is the US, the bully is foreign states that are known to be aggressors. Teaching the martial arts is transfer of tech. And we shouldn't be the bully, either, we shouldn't interfere in other folks business, until it becomes quite apparent it IS our business, such as the statements from foreign official organs that we are the enemy. And this transfer of tech starts at the very top of government, multinationals, and the banks. We need to take a much closer look at dusting off the old treason laws again. Their allegiances are apparently to their own, not to the safety and integrity of our Union. Our country is quite large enough to be self contained, and to only trade with friends, not enemies. I could care less how many managers won't get to drive mercedes then, it's of no consequence to me where our safety is concerned. They'll still make enough to have a decent car. Profits at all costs over security issues is just plain WRONG.

Turning it around back to some semblance of order would take a long time and cause quite a realignment of all aspects of the economy, but in the long run it would be worth it. We can't go on letting the multinationals and the banks with the collusion of high governmental officials arm and fund both sides in conflicts, all in the name of "profits". screw 'em.
