Natural Gas Update: Texas Eastern Cuts Interruptible Transport

Princeton, New Jersey, Feb. 6 (Bloomberg Energy) -- Texas Eastern Transmission Corp. cut all interrupitile transportation on its pipeline in South Texas and East Texas zones.

No interruptible transportation can be sourced in either zone to be delivered outside those zones until further notice. The restrictions took effect at 9 a.m. Central time Saturday.

Does anyone know what this REALLY means? Here's what the actual notice on their website says: Link February 4, 2000

Zones STX/ETX, as a whole, have been scheduled to capacity. Texas Eastern (TETCO) has cut approximately 50% of Preferential Transportation based on zone exits of the STX/ETX area for gas day February 5. No additional increases will be allowed for Transportation sourced in either STX (service point 79501) or ETX (service point 79502) for the 5th.

Effective 9:00 AM CT no Interruptible Transportation can be sourced in STX/ETX to be delivered outside these zones until further notice.
