Folks,

I didn't realize so many people were still linking to the discussion group via my web site -- I put the link there back around Christmas- time, because we had had to change the URL after a serious spam attack had shut us down for a couple of days. I thought everyone had bookmarked the URL by now, but I've gotten several emails from people in the past couple of hours, so I guess I must have been wrong...

Obviously, the forum is still here, and is still going strong. I'll put the link back on the my web site a little later this morning. Sorry for the confusion...

P.S. As for the difficulties getting into the HumptyDumpty forum -- as someone else on this thread explained, I found that it was being misused by outsiders (forum members were being automatically subscribed to other lists by someone, unbeknownst to themselves), so I now require people to register in order to read and/or write messages. Sorry about that, but I'm far less tolerant of trolls and spammers than the good- natured group of sysops who work so hard on this forum...

And I wanted to send him my copy of his book, for his to autograph and return, so I can pass some history/hysteria (mine included) for my Grand Children This experience has been too rich (after the nervous breakdown!). I want to leave every thing printed for my Grand Children, so they can pass them on for ages, to understand the times, the concerns, and the mindset (especially the toilet paper contest:-). Of course, I have enough tb, they may be using it, after I am gone.

Can you blame him? He set up a new password site to discuss Y2k with other professionals and avoid the moron trolls. After all, trying to have an intelligent conversation with someone like "Liberal Hater" chipping in his two cents worth isn't exactly going to make his forum appear professional in the eyes of his colleagues. We can thank the trolls for chasing Ed away from his own original forum.

Howie- now that some enterprising soul went to humpty-dumpty and enrolled every email address he could find into some random newsgroups/listserves, you now need to register to read as well as post.

Life sucks and somebody always screws it up for the majority.
