[Yet another fire/explosion, this time in Algeria. This is the fire du jour, while Bolivia gets the burst pipeline du jour.]

Boots & Coots responds to blowout in Algeria February 4, 2000 Boots & Coots International Well Control Inc. and its alliance partner Halliburton Energy Services have responded to a well blowout in the Hassi-RMel region of Algeria. Over 60 tons of response equipment has been mobilizedto the country from the US.

The Algerian national oil company, Sonatrach, has formed a team consisting of Boots & Coots and Halliburton personnel who have assessed the present situation and formulated plans to extinguish the fire and restore the well.
