Can't play DAT-files! Please help!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi, I got a hugh problem. Yesterday I formatted my HD. Before that I've been able to play VCD, DAT-files with Xing MPEG-player and/or Mediaplayer. But now, I just can't open DAT-files with these programs! W hen I try it answers like, MMSYSTEM296 You can't play up the selected file with this MCI-unit. The file may be corrupt.

I've tested four different DAT-files, with the same result.

Please, help me! /Daniel Albertsson

i have had a similar problem, but not after i formatted my drive, for whatever reason it just screwed up one day. So i used a converter to reconvert the dat file to an mpeg and the problem was fixed. This is the only time i have ever had a problem like this
