Any ACL / SAL F-3s?

Did the ACL ever own any F-3 locos? If yes, what were the engine numbers and what color scheme(s) were used? Based on 1947 roster, SAL owned 10 F-3s. What color schemes did SAL use for their F-3s? Thanks.

Richard, according to Warren Calloway's book the ACL had 12 F3 A units (#336-347) and 12 F3 B units (#336-B to 347-B). All these units were built in 1948, so would have been delivered in purple and aluminum with six inch lettering. Apparently, these late F3s had Farr grills, giving them the appearance of the F7. In 1957, the ACL abandoned the purple/aluminum paint in favor of black with yellow trim and lettering. All these units were still in service at the time of this change and for may years afterward.
