Need help identifying RR Station

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Shortline, Narrow Gauge and Industrial Railroading : One Thread

There is a very old "cabinet card" photo-picture of trains and a train station, on eBay, right now, through Feb. 7th, 2000. If someone happens to read this, before then, I'd appreciate it, if you could take a look at it, and see if it can be identified. The photo was done by the Ensminger Bros. of Sanford, FL, (and they were around the area in the 1880's and 90's). The architecture of the station in the photo, appears to be Russian, possibly Peter Demens? It can be found at: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?viewItem&item=250719567 or on eBay, use the search word "Ensminger"

Thanks! Christine Best

This answer is a bit late, but sometimes things click.

I remember seeing the picture when you originally had it posted in 2000. I just recently purchase a large collection of old RAILROAD MAGAZINES, and ran across a similar item in the edition for March 1955 (page 50).

If you remember the old RAILROAD, there was a monthly feature called "Along The Iron Pike" by Joe Easly. It presented pen and ink drawings of railroad subjects made fro photos sent to Mr. Easly. One of the items in that feature for March '55 was an Atlantic Coast Line station in Florida which appeared to be similar. The station name was Istachatta. No date was given.
