Orange Belt Railway

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Shortline, Narrow Gauge and Industrial Railroading : One Thread

Hello everyone! I hope someone can possibly help me...I am studying the area of "Monroe, Florida or Lake Monroe, Florida", the point at which the Orange Belt Railway originated. By reading the book on Peter Demens, I found out that the original charter was obtained by three men, prior to Demens taking it over for their non-payment of some railroad ties. How would I find information on the original charter, to learn more about the very first origin, of what became the Orange Belt Railway, and also, I'm trying to find if there are any known photos of the station in Lake Monroe, FL (near Sanford, FL), because I have been told that this station was built by Peter Demens, and he has a certain architecture that is unmistakable. I haven't been able to find any pictures of this station. I'd appreciate any guidance or ideas that someone might have on how to locate the original charter.

Thank you! Christine Best
