Database Engineer wanted!!!A rapid growing Internet start-up based in Washington, DC. has an immediate opening for a Database Engineer. The Database Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining large-scale, mission-critical databases in an Internet environment. This position guides the development teams use of database technology.
The candidate will be expected to tune databases, design and implement standard policies, and monitor resource utilization in a mixed, transaction/warehouse environment. The successful candidate will have 2+ years of SQL Server or Oracle database administration and modeling experience, a BS in Computer Science or equivalent, excellent problem solving and analytical skills, outstanding oral and written communication skills, and an aptitude for learning new technologies. SQL expertise and relevant database certifications are expected; prior-programming experience is desirable. Salary range: $60-90k.
Founded in September 1999, the Company has grown from 4 to 13 employees in the past 90 days and expects to be at 30 employees by the end of February 2000. All employees receive equity in the Company, in addition to a competitive salary and benefits package.
