I apologize for not being clear. The solution (B) 1:7 was made from the stock, not the concentrate. thanks carol

I do not get golden negatives, but from time to time I found golden residues in my developer tank. (I used one tank for developing and a second for fixing at that time) So it could be some kind of silver residue. Although not having used HC 110 or similar liquid concentrated developers I rather think the problem is in the fixer. Some films contain a coloured anti-halo layer which is removed during development and my developers turn black or green or red, so I prefer one-shot techniques. The stop bath should not change colour much, it might contain some developer left over for a colour cast. The fixer (Hypam 1:4) never changes its coloures.

So was the developer afterwards clear and the fixer had turned black?

Please give us some info on your stop bath and fixer. Did you try to refix (maybe in new fixer)some of the film to see if the goldish tone disappears?

Regards,

Wolfram
