Home VCD playing stop on my philips DVD710

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

ok, this is my problem: i have a standalone philips dvd710 player. i produce my own vcd and burn whit nero or easycd. in some films i made it happens that the playing freezes and stop always at the same point and i can't do anything else. i also noticed that while playing i can't use ffwd or rewnd buttons, but whit other videocd not made by me (in which i find a sony videoproducer player for windows) that buttons work greatly. is it a problem of burning software? i also tryed different cdr types. i use dvd2mpeg to produce audio/video files, xing encoder to multiplex, vcd cutter to split in 2 big files and nero/easycd to burn. Some films i made work greatly other crash.

i forgot an important thing: i use pc color tone correction in dvd2mpeg encoding software. is it a solution to use tv color tone correction instead?

I have a Philips DVD825 stand alone player and I have the same problem. Apparently from what I've found out here that is typical for Philips players. It is probably an error in the encoding since it does it at the same spot every time. Some things you can do to help is to use the best media you can find and to burn your CD's at a lower speed, either at 1x or 2x. I have tried that and still some pauses but not as bad. I took the same CD to Best Buy and tried it on a Pioneer machine with no problem at all. Check the other questions here there is a all thread concerning the Philips player
