I need an analysis on "eldorado"

I belive that this poem has a biblical background. the knight in this poem is looking for relief. Obviously eldorado can not be obtained. i think that poe is trying to say that there is nothing after death, and that everyone dies. When poe says "down the valley of the shodow" he is making a connection to the bible verse that talks about the vallley of the shodow of death.

The poem "El Dorado" is about Spanish conquestors on the search for the fountain of eternal youth and about how they never found it.
