What is the status of Hedge Funds?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I read an article from Reuters Business News (Stocks Rally as Bonds Fail) that said there were many rumors on Wall Street today about some "unidentified hedge funds" being in trouble because of the surge of the dollar against the Euro.

Have any of you heard simular stories or have corroboration?

I remember in 1998 during the LTCM debacle, Alan Greenspan said we came within days of a global financial meltdown.

That is worth watching. If another hedge fund blows it could be all over. It could simply create a reverse leverage implosion that would obliterate the financial system more effectivly that Y2K ever could. Personally, I started preping back when LTCM nearly brought the system down. I hadn't even heard of Y2K back then, but I realised that the global economy really is a house of cards and that we are all going to be playing 52 card pickup soon.
