Sangersreview call it quits (Thankyou so much Larry)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

From: "Larry Sanger"

Hello all,

This should be the last mail you'll receive via the "Sanger's Review" mailing lists.

The CD is sold out, so please don't send any more orders!

If you've ordered a CD, sorry for the slight delay -- they should all be mailed Saturday.

In other news, I got a very fun-sounding, full-time job that is moving me to San Diego: I'm going to be the editor-in-chief of what will become the largest online encyclopedia in the world, nupedia.com. My boss will be a friend of mine, the rather wildly successful CEO of Bomis.com.

I may still work on sangersreview.com for a few hours a week, though; I am thinking of using it to link to content online about our most serious cultural problems (e.g., American education policy, lack of respect for the positive values of Western civilization, the mind-dulling effects of television, etc.). I don't know; check sangersreview.com in a few weeks or a month if you're curious!

Regards, Larry

While I do not agree with you, I thank you for trying your best and supplying important news. Best of luck in all your endeavors.

Another little-used bookmark to delete.

Well Larry, if you're feeling a little down and need a dose of doomerism just drop in here at DoomBomb2000 and you can get your fill of earthquakes, exploding gas pipelines and tripping nuke plants and maybe the markets will be tanking that day too.

DoomBomb2000, its a great media collage of negative happenings. Have fun in San Diego, brush up on your Spanish.

Yes, we knew this was coming.

For anyone that doesn't know, Patrick Shannon (aka pshannon), the "News Editor" at Sanger's, was a long time regular here, before he took the job at Sanger's.

If anyone is interested, you can read ps's farewell message here. He has always been a good guy, and I shall always regret having missed his party in NYC.

Just happened upon this thread, even though I've been pretty much off the internet for the past two weeks.

In a few days, I'll have something new to share with folks on the forum. Should be interesting and exciting! Around Feb 1st.

Cheers!

(Hey, Sysman -- What do ya say to a TB2000 get together in Manhattan on April 1, which is a Saturday, and April Fool's Day? Appropriate?

Howdy ps,

Sounds like a darn good idea to me. Keep in touch! <:)=
