Newbie sprouter question

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Preparation Forum : One Thread

Following the mason jar sprouting instructions on Learn2.com, I have a good batch of lentil sprouts, about 4 days old. I would like to use them tonight in a stir fry. Question: the little sprouts are still attached to the seed. Is this the way I use them? Sorry for the dumb question, but they just don't look like the sprouts I buy at the grocery.

The sprouts most stores sell are alfalfa, alfalfa/clover/radish combination, or mung bean sprouts, so wouldn't look like lentil sprouts. Use them as they are. The sprouted lentils are soft, not like regular raw lentils.

Cook, and enjoy!

To cook sprouts is to kill a lot of vitamins. Sprouts are loaded with vitamins, but if you cook sprouts, you are defeating the nutritional part of sprouting. Hey, don't be a whimp, eat them raw!
