i browsed through your webpage and am very excited for you guys. how long has this film society been in existence? students here at the univ. of kentucky are trying to establish our own film society, and i'd appreciate any advice whatsoever. also, do members of the society also create films, or do they just enjoy and discuss films. we're hoping to do a little of both here.

Hey, we do all sorts of things, but not all of them are really up on the website as we have been without a webmaster for a little over a year. We have screenings of films, video series, and film festivals. We also have a production unit that funds films and videos, and has a workshop for digital movie making. The workshop is new, and works very well. We bought a digital camera, light kit, mic, dolly, and a tripod that the students check out daily. Soon we plan to buy an editing station such as a G4 with Final Cut Pro. We have been around for about 5 years, and have really just started to take off in the last couple of years.
