In addition, I heard that Paris, Texas is expected to have its worst ice storm in decades. Anyone here live in N. Texas??

I live in North Central Texas about 56 miles south of the Metroplex. At this time it is sleeting in Fort Worth and Dallas but is expected to stop later in the day. The Texas Panhandle and areas along the Red River are in much worse condition with snow, ice and sleet. Schools are closed in all those areas. East Texas is getting some powdery snow but mostly sleet.

My dear Mistress Jeanne,

The conditions in West Texas are cloudy, with some wind and it is misting (Hope it starts raining "cats and dogs" though). We really need a good old fashioned "Frog Stangler" right now...The drought you know.

Nothing like being quick with a response, huh?

I live Northish from FtW/D. At this hour (THU 1200) somebody has dumped a bunch of white stuff in our yard and they turned down the themometer too !!!

Actually it's only about 32 or so cause the evil white stuff is melting in spots.

Ummmmm, Greybear if Y2K means you have to be prepared for Northern- style winter weather, does it mean I have to be prepared for Southwestern-style heat and drought next summer?

Dang! I knew I was short on something in by preps! I don't have any desert camo except for some old stuff I've "outgrown" over the last few years.

Hope the mess doesn't cause serious problems for you and yours. Stay warm and enjoy the different scenery.

Of course if you want a real dose of the white mess, I've got about two feet of the stuff laying around outside my door...
