Anyone having trouble bringing up quotes on E-Trade. I enter symbols and they transpose or indicate No Such Stock
-- Larry (Rampon@Dallas.com), January 26, 2000
Uh-oh. I don't have an account there. What did e-trade say when you called in? Aren't all these online traders required to have phone access as a back-up now?
-- Hokie (Hokie_@hotmail.com), January 26, 2000.
Hi Hokie,Haven't called in yet. Just got in and logged on to check a few positions. If I enter NEM (Newmont Mining),I get NME. IBM indicates no such stock...same with MSFT, etc. Haven't checked index symbols yet but something is amuk.
How's everything in your life today?

The system doesn't seem to be down...just corrupted. That may indicate more problems than being "Down". It doesn't recognize Indices and MER (Merrill Lynch) gave me a menu of every stock beginning with MER to choose from. Think it's FUBAR...at least right now. After hours trading same thing.

working now... cyber fart?
-- Carl (clilly@goentre.com), January 26, 2000.
Who are you calling a cyber-fart?
-- Larry (Rampon@Dallas.com), January 26, 2000.
Carl,You're a real brave "Little Geek" sitting there on your "Lard Ass" with your "Pot Belly" hanging over your keyboard aren't you. Can't imagine what would cause anyone to make such a smart-ass remark....figure it must have something to do with your mother.
I can tell you one thing...if you were in my home or office and made such a statement you'd be digging your pigmy-peter out of the dirt right about now cause I would have decked your fat ass!!
-- Larry (Rampon@Dallas.com), January 26, 2000.
Slow down fellows... "cyber fart" was refering to one of those mysterious computer glitches that happen as your cruising the internet... it was not a reference to any poster...Take a Valium Larry for christ sake...
-- Carl (clilly@goentre.com), January 26, 2000.
Larry,By the way, I'm 5'11", 160#, and hung like a horse... and also a computer "geek"...
Apology accepted :)
-- Carl (clilly@goentre.com), January 26, 2000.
Carl,My Sincerest Apologies. Was not familiar with the terminology.
-- Larry (Rampon@Dallas.com), January 26, 2000.
CarlWhat a coincidence...me too! (Except for the "Geek" part)
-- Larry (Rampon@Dallas.com), January 26, 2000.
Hey Larry...What say we find a couple of twins and double date :)
-- Carl (clilly@goentre.com), January 27, 2000.
Oh, as to the "computer geek", started out to become a psychologist, tended bar to help pay the bills that GI didn't cover.. discovered computers had an on/off switch that nuts/drunks didn't... changed majors :)
