KISHINEV, January 18 (Itar-Tass) - Romania has warned Moldova that it stops the electricity supply on Wednesday morning due to the Moldovan 25 million dollar debt. That will cut the electricity consumption in Moldova by one fourth and aggravate the situation in the republic whose towns and villages do not have electricity at night, sources in the Moldtranselectro energy company said.

The Romanian national energy company is dissatisfied by the Moldovan non-payments and the delay in passing over the controlling parcel of shares of the Tirex-Petrol joint stock company selling petroleum products in payment for the electricity debt. The Moldovan Premier chaired an emergency cabinet sitting to discuss ways to pay the debt and to provide the republic with electricity at the expense of the domestic reserves.

The daily consumption of electricity in Moldova with the exception of Transdnestr is 12.5 million kilowatt/hour. Some 2.8 million kilowatt/hour are supplied by Romania, 5.7 million kilowatt/hour are supplied by Ukraine and the rest is generated by power plants of Moldova. The situation is aggravated by the fact that Ukraine, to which Moldova owes some 60 million dollars for electricity, has also announced a possibility of halting the supplies. Ukraine has a crisis itself caused by the reduced fuel delivery by Russia.

Next round of bombing coming up! I expect Klintoon with do this in the name of humanity and the human right to have electricity for Moldovan microwaves. "It is basically unfair and inhuman to expect the Moldovan people to live in darkened homes with no electricity for televisions or for microwave popcorn to eat while watching their TVs."

Look for the new NATO and UN units with the "Reddy Kilowatt" emblem on their blue berets.

WW;)
