Just had our tank filled. Price per gallon: $1.552

Watching neighbor's house while they're in Europe. Had their tank filled on 1/13. Same company. Price per gallon then: $.889

Unbelievable.

PS - We've been dealing with the same oil co. for years. Sure, it goes up in winter, but I don't think I've ever seen it much above $1.10

Unhappy, but warm Sysman. <:)=

Better save that receipt, Sysman. When your friends come back, they won't believe you paid that much. You'll want reimbursement, I'm sure!!

Boy am I glad I have 750 gals sitting in tanks outside to supplement the 500 gals in the underground tank we had filled in Dec. As long as I don't have to use the genset I shouldn't have to buy oil until at least May. Hopefully by then this will all have passed...

Earlier in 1999 we were paying, in Northern California, around $1.70 - 1.80 per gallon. From the summer on we have been paying around $1.40 per gallon. Price continues to be $1.33 - $1.39 per gallon here in N. Cal. I guess its just karma - you all in the rest of the country have been living on easy street till now! :-)

Nashville TN

My friend the local Texaco jobber says things are getting tense, supplies are dwindling, costs are rising fast(sometimes in the middle of the day)and resupplies are questionable.

He also said that in conversations with other oil/gas guys that gasoline is next, that there are definetly problems in drilling, pumping, distilling and transport.

My friend has been in the biz for 30 yrs and is worried, says the summer forecast is glum.
