* Weather Problems The community of South Naknek suffered a power outage due to weather events over the weekend. Several power poles were downed and power is out to about 30 homes. The Division of Energy sent a team to assist the community with the problem. In addition, a crew from Kodiak is also on site helping out. Latest estimates are that the power will be restored by late Tuesday. Several of the communities in the Bristol Bay area also had phone outages. Many had their service back up on Monday. The long distance carriers and the local phone companies are working to restore the remaining service outages.

* Ivanof Bay Fuel Shortage The Ivanof Bay Village Council requested assistance from DES on January 24th o help with a fuel shortage in the community. Due to a recent fuel spill, the community will run short prior to the spring bulk fuel delivery. They currently have on hand enough fuel for about 6 to 8 weeks. DES will work with the Division of Energy to coordinate assistance.
