Good question Billy Boy; I have no idea.

BTW, Any word on resort ships? I remember your friend's dad had a professional relationship with a specific cruise line (you mentioned a couple months back; his prediction came to be). Any info from him on the resort ships running short on fuel?

The headline says "fuel shortages" but a read of the text suggests that the fuel shortage is due to budget problems, or more operations than planned. But I have no doubt that each individual reader will interpret it as desired. Probably Hal will accuse me of doing that. Oh, well.

Any other segments of the British Empire suffering from fuel shortages?

i know it didnt say y2k, but i think it is again interesting timing since there are many areas in the world with fuel supply problems, basically what you your seeing is conservation on the part of the british military to ruduce pressure on supplies, what i find interesting is that the u.s. is having shortages in some areas and very unstable oil market, why hasnt the gov release some of the stratigic oil reserve to help ease the shortages and maybe at least try to stablize oil prices, are they saving it for worse times to come, we came close in the gulf war era to releasing oil from the SOR, and now the price and availibility is in worse shape now.

Billy Boy me lad, the PTB have a fairly good idea why this is going on.

I would HOPE they have the inteligence NOT to open up the SPR for price stabilization. PRICES ARE NOT STRATEGIC!!!!!

Billy Boy...the SPR or SOR as you called it, is really not the short term answer at all. It is not refined, is somewhat contaminated, especially by salt via storage, and besides, it would be needed if the nation got mixed up in a war. Other folks in this forum know a great deal more about it, but in general, price is not a sufficient reason to tap the Strategic Reserves.

doesnt look like senator dood or the prez think so, for the 1st time in history some oil will be released. this is now officially an OIL EMERGENCY.
