Oil in the year 2K

Even though the Y2K computer glitch isn't mentioned, I think it may be a factor. Previous info suggests this glitch may have closed down a cat cracking (oil processing) plant in Venezuela and another in the eastern US. Anyway there is a sudden shortage. We always have cold weather somewhere, so I think Y2K is probably more to blame than the weather. What do you all think?

I think that degradation of embedded chips is far more widespread in the "fix-it-as-it-breaks" oil industry than people realize.
