NO THE ELECTRICITY DIDN'T GO OFF, BUT I WAS PREPARED AND MY KEROSENE HEATER HAD A NEW WICK AND I HAD PLENTY OF KEROSENE. THE OIL COMPANY MADE 3 TRIPS BACK AND FORTH BEFORE THE PROBLEM WAS FINALLY CORRECTED. IT IS REALLY COLD OUT THERE. RON

Ron, thanks for your post. I'm sure you didn't intend to "yell out" your reponse in all Caps. Your problem sounds like a real pain and am glad that you had a backup. Sound like your #2 heating oil gelled up. This morning, it was 18 F. below zero at my place in MN. Not to uncommon, but since we have had such a warm winter, quite a nasty wake up call. I also heard, a small neighborhood in Moundviews, MN woke up this morning without any natural gas, telephone, or power due to a water main break. I only heard a little bit about it on the local news and am now searching the local news web pages to find out more information. I was only half paying attention to the news when it was reported. It doesn't sound like a major diaster, but for those people living there, I'm sure they would like to have a backup source of heat

I **love** my Kerosun DC-100 heater!! It burns so clean, the C02 detector registers zero even after 12 hours continuous use. The best part is the totally unexpected 30% reduction in my home heating bill from using the kerosene heater instead of the forced-air gas central heating.
