Message header too cryptic. Brevity and concise communication. Good. But too much. Bad.

Ugly. Energy news. Ukraine. Not. Directly. Y2K-related.

(So far as we can tell. Snip from URL given above: The Ukraine is in the grips of a grave energy crisis and, as announced by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Julia Timoshenko, it is likely that next week a three-month state of emergency will be declared...The Ukranian authorities have admitted that they owe Gazprom $2.8 billion. Most of this debt is a result of unsanctioned siphoning off of Russian exported gas, or, plainly speaking, theft...some regions of the country are without electricity for up to 12 hours daily and fuel reserves are running low... )

The Ukraine is in the grips of
a grave energy crisis and, as
announced by Ukrainian
Deputy Prime Minister Julia
Timoshenko, it is likely that
next week a three-month state
of emergency will be declared.
The minister made the
comments (with the consent of
President Leonid Kuchma), on
her return from Moscow on
Thursday, where she held
talks with the head of the
Russian Gazprom state
corporation Rem Viakhirev.
