Heard this on the morning news. A local Milwaukee area college lost power yesterday (1/18/00), not Y2K related. But because of the generators and other preparation done for Y2K everything was able to function as normal until the power company was able to restore electricity. It proves once again that all that preparation was not a waste of time, energy and money.
