Aeon voice samples

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Aeon Flux : One Thread

I don`t know if any of you listen to techno music, but there are a couple of Aeon Flux samples circulating out there. Back in 1997, Danish techno/trance act Orion released a track called "The Source". It quoted Trevor`s line in The Purge, "I am the source of your salvation". The remix by Elysium has another sample, at the very beginning, of Trevor saying "Yes, I`ve been monitoring the situation" (from Utopia or Deuteronpia I believe). Both mixes can be heard on the Orion album "Futuristic Poetry". In addition, German duo Kopfuss Resonator used what sounds like a heavily distorted version of Una`s "Not a dream, not a dream, and if it is may it never stop" from Isthmus Crypticus, for their track "Timelog". It appeared on the recent Spirit Zone Records compilation "Global Psychedelic Trance Vol. 5". (A very cool CD BTW, look for it in small record shops and places like Borders) Why am I mentioning this? Because it`s cool that the Aeon Flux word has even spread to the electronic music community. It`s always been a far out show, to say the least, and some of the station ID music, in between commercials during marathons, was kinda techno- trancey, but it still came as quite a surprise to hear these quotes used out of context for the very first time. I attribute it to John Rafter Lee`s voice which chills me to the bone, but that`s another story :). Anyway, does anyone want to talk music with me? Someone mentioned AMP a while ago, that was my 2nd favorite eMpTV show after Aeon. Who`s with me?

I definately agree with you on the fact that AMP is the second greatest show in the history of MTV. Also, thanks for the band names, because i have been looking for some good trance music.

Trance music, eh? Well, anything on Blue Room is good... try Juno Reactor, their music sounds like it came right out of a Chung multiverse!

I heard an Aeon Flux sample in a song by an industrial band called Crackhead. I don't remember the name of the song but the sample was 2 things Trevor said spliced together. "I am the source of your salvation. Providing conscience for those who have none."
