i feel like a winner today because, 1. my wife still loves this klutz. 2. successfully completed a couple of projects that were bugging me. 3. in spite of the creaky old frame....i did struggle out of bed and take a very jaundiced look at the winter world - - - and i stayed up. this is my bad season of the year - - - hooray for me ! 4. i still have a sense of humor which lets me laugh at anything - - most of all at myself. don't know how i would cope without it. 5. and considering the alternative, this winner chooses to stay alive albeit jawing at the world.

i feel like a winner today because i solved half the worlds problems, that is i decided to let the other half cope with them ! a winner ? because i am alive, fed, housed, loved and respected. how much more would it take ?

a winner ? because i have friends who exemplify the way my first grade teacher taught me to spell friend. a friend is a fri - end to the end. and that is the way it works for me, they are that and the others are acquaintances.

a winner because i live in a country where i can say what i please without looking over my shoulder to see who is listening.

you damn well bet i'm a winner.

I feel like a winner because yesterday I created a little Javascript and HTML pop up "Remote Control" to let the people on a cross stitch bulletin board I frequent surf each other's project pages and albums, without having to track down each individual URL. It has really gone over well and the response to it has me walking on air.

P.S. I can understand the excitement about the football team. I'm not really into team sports, especially football, but my fiance recently graduated from Virginia Tech and their football team made it to the national championships this year. We aren't very far from Blacksburg (home of VT), so it was nearly impossible NOT to get caught up in all the excitement!

I feel like a winner because I was able to re-create ALL the nav for my page (ok, it's just in FrontPage, but really, it was GONE -- my hard drive crashed and EVERYTHING was GONE). And I was able to offer help to another journaller about her xoom site and why it had disappeared. And I'm in love, love, love!

I felt like a winner today when I got the top of my left ear pierced. It's about the only thing I have done for months and months which has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with illness or disability. I finally found something I could do just as well as a healthy person! Wow!
