Y2K Roach

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Just as entomologists say that for every cockaroach one is able to see, there are 2000 thosand that are unseen. This applies to the reporting of Y2K Bugs (glitches). You (even you died in the wool pollies) know for every glitch reported there are dozens if not scores of glitches not being reported. And among the glitches not being reported there is without a doubt a number who's existence is unknown to all. And like a insect some or at least one of these unknown glitches is a breeder. Where is the RAID!

Maybe the Y2K bugs are like termites too. On the surface, they don't seem to be doing any damage, until the tree rots and falls apart.

Good post Lenny. Let me add, that the last thing any company, large or small would do is call the media, and tell them about their computer problems. Would you? Hell no, just try to get it fixed, and shine it off as a minor glitch, whether it is or not. Remember last August, when the man in charge of Italy`s Y2K office said publically that they were hosed? How could they have gone fron that to fully remediated in 6 months?

Heh, only thing I can add is that the cock roaches have organized and now ask to be called hug bugs... saw it on Comedy Central last night, must be true--that's main stream media, right? Otherwise, this theory is sound:)
